( a whole two months since a single post – shame on me…!!)

However, things have been far from quiet at this end…. no excuse, but sometimes life goes like that?

One thing that has been taking a lot of hours away from blogging time is my recent involvement in the re-launch of Unicorn Magazine.

Unicorn Magazine is a quarterly folk magazine, representing the views and interests of the folk arts community in the three neighbouring counties of Herts, Beds and Cambs. Started 31 years ago, the dedicated team who have kept it going ever since have decided to retire – myself and two others have (rather rashly!) taken on the baton!

We are hoping to take the magazine forward in months to come, whilst remaining true to the spirit of the original – ‘evolution rather than revolution’ as the saying goes.

Paid for by advertising alone, needless to say we have had a lot to take on board. The next issue (Issue 123!) should be out by mid June and will showcase a new design (by your truly), some new features and lots of new editorial from the others on the team. We have also had to hastily create a new website, which like the magazine will hopefully evolve and grow over time.

Do check it out, join the mailing list to receive a free PDF copy of the next issue, do all that social media stuff, and place an advert if you think it relevant.

Here’s to the next 31 years!?
