So my mate Dave ‘Trombone’ has been working hard for the last year or so putting a fantastic New Orleans-style jazz band together – but this one is not like any other you may have seen or heard before…
Not only are Doolally Tap a remarkable bunch of musicians, but they are all unique ‘characters’, guaranteed to add interest and life to any performance or event!
Check out their new website here for more details or better yet go and see them play / book them for a gig – you won’t be disappointed!
(I did the banner for the site but that’s not why I am plugging them, honest!)

Last weekend saw the official launch night event for the shed book at Waterstones.
Here are a few shots of the night in all it’s glory – the event was well attended by a variety of sheddies, featured a speech from the author/photographer of the book Donato, as well as some musical performances and, of course, few glasses of red wine!
The book also now has its own official page on the publisher’s website here >>

Just seen the Shed Book in the window of my local Waterstones! All very exciting…
No one has stopped me to ask for an autograph as yet, but hey ho!! Give it time…
Launch event is on Saturday 9th – hope to have some more shots of that after the event…

Firstly, apologies for the scarcity of posts this year – it’s been a tricky time for one reason and another…
Finally though, here is some good news! I’ve finally received an advanced copy of a long-awaited new book on sheds, featuring your truly on the cover and one of the inside stories.
‘My Shed and How It Was Built‘ features 50 different shed dies and their unique shed creations, including some of my ‘shed night friends that I’ve mentioned on this blog over the years (including GG, SC and IJ to name but a few…)
The book is officially published on the 7th May, and there is a launch event for it at the St Alban’s branch of Waterstones on Saturday 9th. More information and pre-ordering of the book can be found on the publishers Little, Brown Book Group site here:
https://www.littlebrown.co.uk/books/detail.page?isbn=9781845285630
The book is photographed and written by well-known photographer Donato Cinicolo… he’s done a splendid job on this, his latest, book although I guess I may be a bit biased!! Check it out for yourself – it makes the perfect gift for any shed enthusiast!
