Now that the Eastern Approaches exhibition is over a new exhibition has taken its place at the St Albans museum, and again I’ve got some of my work in it.

Called ‘Gadgets & Goggles‘ this is steampunk-themed show, mainly featuring the amazing collection of historical artifacts that has been put together over the years by Maurice Collins (which have been featured a lot over previous years on the tv, in books, etc)

The exhibition is free to visit and is on display until 13th April – check out the official museum page here for more details:

Here are some quick shots of my stuff (all taken at night at the private view so not the greatest quality I am afraid) but do get along to see the how if you can!

There is a great exhibition in my local museum at the moment…

Called Eastern Approaches, it’s an open submission exhibition representing local artistic talent  from across Hertfordshire.

Here are just three photos I hastily took of some of the 3D / sculptural work:

A while ago I wrote about a community project I had just created the corporate ID / design for… Called Odeon Journey, it is a project to record the memories of the old St Albans Odeon building, finally bought and soon to be restored after years of abandonment and neglect.

Last week the project reached the end of the development stage, and entered the launch phase, culminating in a three month exhibition at the St Albans Museum.

Here are some random photos from the launch event – very enjoyable it was too! Even though I didn’t actually produce the banners, signage etc,  it was great to see my design in use and to see that it worked well in different applications.

Last weekend the acoustic ‘jazz’ trio did a gig at the excellent Museum of St Albans. Here are a few photos of the general set up during sound check, taken by the excellent Al Rogers:

We particularly liked the shots with the ice cream van!

Oops! I realise a whole month has nearly gone by and no postings! Shame on me… I have not been idle however, and here is the first in a series of ‘catch-up’ posts charting recent activity:

A few weeks ago Gerald and myself (minus the redoubtable  Alan unfortunately) did a short set at a charity fundraising do for the excellent Single Parent Project. Set up to bring financial aid to single parents in Southern Africa, the night was very well run and attended, and a substantial sum was raised…

More details on the project can be found on their website here, and here is a photos of us doing our stuff. . .

Continuing the trio’s tradition of doing gigs in unusual places, this coming Sunday 20th November the three of us are doing one in the Museum of St Albans… do come along if you are in the area!
